What are the Different Types of Vaginal Rejuvenation?

Vaginal rejuvenation proceduressurgical or non-surgical It can be in shapes. Treatment targets the vulva (the outer part of the female genitals) and the vaginal canal (where penetration occurs during sexual intercourse or where a tampon is inserted).

Surgical Methods of Vaginal Rejuvenation

Surgical methods of vaginal rejuvenation require sedation or anesthesia. In this context,  Some common surgical procedures for vaginal rejuvenation are:

  • Labioplasty: It means reshaping your labia, or the "lips" of your vagina. Labiaplasty surgery aims to achieve a better condition, both aesthetically and functionally, by reducing the sagging, wrinkled, longer than normal, thick or dark-colored inner lips, or by reducing the large and saggy-looking outer lips and making them tighter and smoother.

  • Vaginoplasty: After birth  tightening the deformed vaginal canal  or means to repair. Enlargement or sagging may occur in the vagina due to childbirth, obesity, genetic characteristics and aging. These deformations, which are mostly due to the weakness of the pelvic floor muscles and connective tissue, may develop due to menopause, pregnancy history, and smoking. These enlargements in the vagina; It may also cause problems such as exercises in which intra-abdominal pressure increases or a sound like gas leaking from the vagina during sexual intercourse, recurrent vaginal infections due to disrupted vaginal flora due to the vaginal entrance being separated, or lack of sensation during sexual intercourse. All surgical techniques performed to narrow the vagina are called 'vaginoplasty'. Which surgical procedures will be performed depend on the condition of the person

  • Clitoral Hood Reduction:It means removing the extra tissue covering the clitoris. It is the process of correcting the wrinkled skin folds on the clitoris using surgical methods.

  • Monsplasty: Reducing excess fatty tissue in the MOns Pubis area.

  • Perineplasty: Strengthening and repairing the perineum (the space between the vagina and anus). Post-traumatic or congenital defects or skin folds in this area can cause pain or lack of sensation during intercourse. On the other hand, it may have a poor aesthetic appearance due to the incisions or tears in the perineum during birth becoming infected or not healing properly. Surgery performed to correct incision and stitch marks in the perineal area, remove skin folds, close the separation at the entrance of the vagina and lengthen the distance between the vagina and anus is called perineoplasty.

  • Hymenoplasty: Procedures for hymen repair.

Non-Surgical Vaginal Rejuvenation Methods

Nonsurgical vaginal rejuvenation methods are noninvasive with a short recovery time. They aim to rejuvenate your vaginal area without anesthesia or surgery. Non-surgical vaginal rejuvenation involves laser burning the upper layers of vaginal tissue. This causes the underlying tissue to form extra collagen and new, firmer tissue.

Nonsurgical treatment includes:

  • CO2 laser therapy: The laser heats the upper layers of tissue in your vagina and causes the tissue in the lower layers to make more collagen. This makes the skin tighter. The most frequently preferred laser in the genital area is carbon dioxide laser. It can be used alone or together with platelet-enriched plasma and hyaluronic acid fillers to increase sexual function and reduce complaints.

  • RF (Radio Frequency) Therapy: RF therapy uses electromagnetic waves, similar (but to a lesser extent) to the waves used in microwaves. RF waves heat the vaginal tissue, promoting blood flow and collagen production.

RF and Laser Treatments are performed in the office environment. Very little local anesthetic is used during the procedure. You can usually continue your day without needing any recovery time.
