When to Go to the Hospital?
It is not necessary to go to the hospital immediately when real labor pains begin. However, if your water breaks or the pain starts to occur regularly every 4-5 minutes, you need to be in the hospital. If the journey from home to hospital will take more than 10-15 minutes, you should leave early.

Hospital Procedures at Birth
Having decided in which institution the birth will take place during prenatal follow-ups eliminates the worry of which hospital should I go when the birth begins. DWhere the birth will take place should be planned during pregnancy and, if possible, the hospital where prenatal follow-up is performed should be preferred. The pregnant woman must have her identity card for registration at the health institution.
In the hospital, first of all, cervical dilatation and contractions are evaluated by examining the chamber. During this examination, it is evaluated whether labor has started, the baby's position in the birth canal, whether the water has broken, whether there is bleeding, and whether the baby's heart sounds are normal. Ultrasonography is performed and risk factors that may cause problems in terms of birth are tried to be distinguished.
A history history is taken from pregnant women who are decided to be hospitalized after the registration process. Afterwards, blood and urine samples are taken for laboratory values. If there is or is an additional problem during pregnancy (such as hypertension, diabetes, bleeding), additional tests and evaluations may be needed.
Examinations may be necessary at regular intervals to evaluate the progress of labor. NST (Nonstress Test) can be performed to evaluate the baby's heart sounds and contractions. NST; It is a test that evaluates well-being by measuring baby movements, the course of the baby's heartbeat and uterine contractions. This test tries to understand whether the baby is normal or in distress. If the expected dilation of the cervix does not occur or if uterine contractions do not occur as often as desired, artificial pain can be given.
When the cervix is fully dilated (10 centimeters in total), labor has started.
It is not possible to see every problem related to the baby with ultrasound.
• The estimated weight of the baby only serves as a guide for the obstetrician. There may be cases where the estimated weight does not match the actual weight of the baby.
• It may not always be easy to determine how many weeks old the baby is. For this reason, the pregnant woman should keep the examination records and ultrasound reports performed during the pregnancy with her when she goes to birth.
