Since there is a risk of falling, bathing should be done by sitting on a suitable, non-slip, sturdy stool. If a bathroom with a bathtub is used, necessary precautions should be taken to avoid slipping when entering and exiting the bathtub. When taking a bath, care should be taken to ensure that the water temperature is not high. Washing the chamber (vaginal shower) should never be done.

When the discharge from the nipples dries, cleaning with a cloth moistened with warm water is sufficient.

Dental health is very important during pregnancy. Teeth should be brushed twice a day and flossed.

  • Clothes

The pregnant woman should always choose clothes that she feels comfortable in, and the clothes should not be tight or tight. Low-heeled, orthopedic and comfortable shoes should be preferred during pregnancy. A bra that supports the breasts well from below and does not rub against the nipples should be preferred.

 

  • Journey

During long journeys, breaks should be taken at two-hour intervals, and care should be taken to walk for at least five minutes during breaks. Since air travel takes place in cabins with regulated pressure, it is not considered a risk-increasing situation. However, airline companies require a medical report for air travel.

Long journeys should be avoided in the last weeks of pregnancy. The pregnant woman should keep a file containing all the tests with her. When using a seat belt, the diagonal upper part should pass between the breasts and should not be placed under the abdomen. The lower part of the belt should be on the upper legs, below the abdomen.

  • Sexuality

Frequent sexual intercourse should be avoided in the first three and last three months of pregnancy. Sexual life information should be obtained from the physician monitoring the pregnancy.

  • Exercise

In order to prevent the dangers that exercise during pregnancy may pose to the mother and the unborn baby, it would be appropriate to organize the activity in consultation with the physician. Studies have shown that the safest exercises during pregnancy are walking and swimming.
